Interesting site.
I signed up to this site: http://www.lapband.com. I wish I had known about this site a year ago. It offers day by day menu help from the makers of Lap-band. There are a lot of helpful recipes too. This site recommends a protein diet for the first 3 days after your first fill to start the weight loss. News to me! Each day you are given more information, I can't wait to see what it offers tomorrow.
They don't do a good job of explaining how the band works in Moncton. I always thought that the band worked by holding food in the stoma for a long time. Research revealed that food should pass through the stoma in about 2 minutes. It is the pressure that is applied to the top of the stoma that gives you the full feeling. If the food stays in the stoma too long it can cause swelling like I had in December. However, the women (Sandy) who runs the Smarterbandster site says that only medication irritates the stoma. Your stoma does not hold a cup of food at one time. That is why you are only supposed to have a cup of food and take 20 minutes to eat it (so it has time to pass through).
I wish I had found the site I posted about a year ago.
