I'm this close!!!

I have not taken any insulin for 3 days. My sugars are rising but very slowly. I will take a half dose tonight. BUT I am so close to kicking the needle for good!!!

Yippee!! That is awesome!!! When I hear these kinds of stories it boggles my mind why the provincial government doesn't encourage people to have wls. Surely the cost of the surgery is far less than the strain on the health care system of treating the co-morbidiites?

I am so happy for you, I know what an achievement this is. I am hoping for the same results, I have gone from taking 10 UNITS to taking 1 -2 units, if needed, and am on Lantus, for 24 hour help with the levels. With continued wl I know I will eventually get off it. Isnt it wonderful ? Thanks for your suggestion awhile back that I try Lantus, as it means taking only the one needle versus the two nph.  You are an inspiration to me. Thanks
