Deeply dissappointed and discouraged

I have been stuck on 180 since November. When I saw Dr. B. in January, he said if I lose 10 more pouunds, he will send in a referral to a plastic surgeon when I see him agaim in Aug. Yes the prospect of getting this huge "apron" off is exciting. But, damn it, I can't budge thoe weight one ounce. I am getting fustrated. I have eaten more, I have eaten less, I have exercised more, I have not exercised at all, I have drank more water and I have dramk less water but NOTHING works. I am almost at my wits end.

I think I will do a week of liquids starting after Easter. I only lost 6 pounds when I did thetwo week  pre-op but I am hoping it will jump start the weight to start losing a little again. My "honeymoon" period will be complete in Aug then I am on my own to maintain this weight loss. I would at least like to be at goal my then.

I am just venting and don't mean to discourage anyone new. I have done well and should be content with that. I am just being vain now but damn it, I want that panni removed  and for my own  sense of achievement,  I would like to hit goal.

You are right Maggie - you have done really well. Maybe a week of liquids will help you start losing those 10 lbs you want to get off. I personally don't know if I ever would have gone below 180lbs had I not gotten sick. My body had kind of settled out there - and stayed there for 3 months or so. Good luck with it and don't beat yourself up!

I understand. I too, am in that 180 phase. Every time I lost weight on my own, this is where the weight loss would stop and I would regain.

I was consistenly losing and now, and here I am again, 184 and I've plateau-ed.

They say the last 20-40 pounds are the hardest, and I'll believe it! Let me know if you can figure out how to break this plateau.

I was thinking about doing liquids too, but I just can't motivate myself enough.

There is a plateau busting diet posted on the Lap-band forum.

LOL 180 is the number for a lot of us.  That is my goal weight. I have 1.5 pounds to go to have 100 pounds off.  It has been a long slow journey but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I usually loose only 1/2 to 1 pound a week. Slow but I haven't gained .  I was to Doctor B; on April 1st for a filling.  Had it done in x-ray. I have to say I prefer to have it done in the bariatric clinTakes less time and the nurse doesn't freeze the stomach. In x ray took a lot longer and more discomfort, but Doctor B likes to check at least once a year to make sure band is wherer it  shoulc be.
I don't post very often, but it is really great to be able to come here and read everyones' great stories  and progress.

It is better to lose 1/2 to 1 pound consistantly, than to plateau over and over. It sounds like you are doing very well. I am now down 75 pounds and less that 40 pounds to goal! I can't believe I am so close to goal!
