Dr. Savoie yesterday

So I lost 3.2 pounds.  (total of 30.2) It's not alot but Suzanne said I'm right where I should be.   She also said to not let myself be discouraged because normally around 6 months you hit a plateau.  She said that because I exercise a lot that muscles are starting to take place and it weighs more than fat so that's why I still feel like I'm losing but the numbers are not going down fast on the scale.

I thought I would mention this in case some of you feel the same way out there.  I was a nervous wreck before going yesterday.

I also met Pierrette which is not yet on this site but might be soon.  She was Dr. Savoie's first patient.   It was really nice to meet her and surprisingly, I was the first person that she met that had the band.   So we chatted quite a bit.  It was nice and I hope she will join us soon!

Have a great day everybody!

Hey Rachel,

So happy to hear from you J

I have been lazy in answering all my messages so sorry if you have not heard from me in awhile. I always forgot to answer your fb message, but I will J

Good to hear you are doing well. Please don’t beat yourself up! Dr. Savoie’s team would never judge or scold you. They are there to encourage and support you throughout your journey and it is normal to plateau, I’ve been plateau’ing now for weeks – juggling the same two pounds since February.

Sometimes I feel like I am discouraging people more than encouraging them, and it makes me sad. My results aren’t very typical and even I know this.

Almost everyone loses slowly with a band; it took my best friend three years to reach her goal. I think the bottom line is that your body will decide the pace it needs to shed the weight and nothing can really change that. Keep on trucking woman and you’ll get there!

Plus Suzanne is right, when you exercise a lot; you build muscle and tone your body so you lose in inches and not in weight. Do yourself a favor and keep track of your measurements just for fun to see the difference!

Keep us posted!
