more food but losing more?
Well I have been very hungry this week and have found that I am eating more calories than in recent weeks since my surgey, I have continued to track all food I have eaten even when I ate the oreo earlier in the week ,but I have continued to lose weight I have lost 3 pounds in the last 5 days. My calories have not gone above 1800 on any day and my pattern has been 1500-1800 one day next day 800-900 and so on. Has anyone else had this experince?

When I was losing I found on days when I ate too little I did not lose as well as days I ate more. That's why I don't understand people who eat 600 or 700 calories a day, how they ever lose any weight. As soon as they go back to regular eating they regain. That's how I dieted for years and always regained all I lost and more.
Rinette didn't say anything about calories, She just wanted me to follow Canada's food guide as best as I could. She didn't even say to never eat sweets or simple carbs again. She said to eat them in moderation. I really like Rinette, I find her sensible approch is best, for me anyway. I'd be flipping if my NUT said never eat anything sweet again . Can't eat much anyway because I dump on sweets.

There are a number of complex fActors the are involved with losing weight with the band. I was told by the Moncton crew (not sure if it was Rinette, but I think it was Lise) that I should aim for 1200 calories, but not more than 1500 calories. I am stalled again and I think it is because I am not getting enough water or calories. I have to stick to liquids again. I have been so tight all day today. Hot coffee isn't even helping. No matter how much I am eating I try to make sure that I get as much protein as I can.
I have read alot on number of calories and speeding up metabolic rate. I tell everyone how mauch I love my band I am eating better than I ever had and up to this past week have not been hungry. I guess I am part of the I LOVE MY BAND GROUP. I know I will hit stalls and have hoped/wished for faster weight loss like other WLS but I am happy.
You are at that difficult time often referred to a banster hell. Your appetite is back but the band isn't tight enough to help a lot. The great thing about the band- when working well- is that your brain thinks that you have eaten a lot more food than you actually have & it does not mess up your metabolism. The fast before surgery probably does more damage to your metabolism than all the years after wards.
