I have experienced this twice. Both times it occures after eating cereal with milk. My nut suggests keeping something sweet like candy nearby and follow it with protein a short while later. I had a really bad hypoglycemia episode about two weeks ago. Do you have this?

Do you have a glucometer? I plan to test my blood sugar the next time it happens to me. Mine ONLY happens after certain food combinations or "fasting"....BUT I think part of mine is linked to drinking caff. coffee in the morning 1st thing.
I can pinpoint mine to eating a bowl of cereal--high fiber cereal/2% milk. and Oatmeal--made with OR without milk. I was thinking it was related to lactose but doesn't seem to be the case.
I have also had my morning coffee and skipped bfast and within a few hours get shakey/fuzzy. BUT the symptoms are not as strong as when I have had a high fiber/low sugar meal.
IF I eat "bad" bfast foods I don't notice a reaction.
I am actually experimenting today--with STEEL CUT OATS (no milk) added some sliced raw almonds, candied walnuts and craisin cranberries (1/2 cup oats). Had coffee around 8am and bfast 8:45. I normally have my morning coffee with splenda, fat free 1/2 and 1/2 and 2 HEAPING spoonfuls of benefiber. Seems to be the ONLY thing that keeps me from being constipated. BUT lately things have been messed up.
I had RNY 6 yrs ago (Dec 03).
My surgeon's PA is at a loss and my local internist suggested a pancreatic insulinoma. BUT it sounds like it must be a post surgery thing. I am trying to lower my cholesterol by eating a healthier bfast but that seems to be BACK FIRING!!! Fried egg, livermush and whole wheat bread--NO reaction. Cereal or oatmeal==CRASH!
IF I crash while I am out and about the easiest way for me to get rid of the shakes is an egg mcmuffin or small mcd cheeseburger. Has to have protein in it.
