Thanks for all your encouragement about my news yesterday.  I'm still feeling down about the surgery postonement but I know it is for the best.  She said it may be cheaper as well since it is being performed in a public hospital....that would be good if I could get medicare to pay for some eh.  I'm getting refocused and will continue to lose, probably slower but will continue on this journey...and be grateful

ou are an inspiration. I would be boo hooing on here like crazy.
Medicare has been known to pay for procedures out of province and in a public hospital. I know that Quebec is different in some way..... But I would start taking to Medicare now.

It would be great  if medicare would pay some, or even reimburse you for some of the cost.

I seem to remember working in the ER when a couple of ladies came in with an embedded fish hook. They were wondering about medicare and I like a dummy was reassuring them that Canada's medicare was universal in Canada. The doctor came in and when he saw they had Quebec healthcare he made them pay him the cost of the visit. He said that Quebec was the only province in Canada that does not pay into the universal canadian healthcare system, and if they did not pay him themselves, he would not get paid for the visit. I think they got the receipt and were going to send it in to their medicare and get reimbursed. Strange isn't it.
