protein bars
Hi Everyone,
I am going away on saturday for a week with my daughter to visit my sister in Seattle the fligths will be long and I do not want to ruin my eating. I am looking for a balanced protein bar that I can use in place of a meal. I can not take shakes due to the no liquids in carry on rule. Does anyone have any suggestions I will be eating breakfast at home but will be on the road or in flight for lunch and dinner.
I would liek to find a bar that has 20 grams of protein but will settle for 15 grams. I am going to make sure I have my hemp hearts in the morning to get in 20 grams of protein.

Copy and paste this web address. I have NEVER found a protein bar that I have stuck with. The Detour protein bar - the smaller 43 gm bar - has 15gms of protein and 170 calories. I live in small town Newfoundland - and kind of get whatever bar is available that is closest to suiting my needs - low calorie and around 15gms of protein. I only use them usually when travelling, or when listening to report before starting a night shift. The Detour bars I have now - all the flavours are good - I think I bought a WalMart - in the nutritional section of the pharmacy area where they have the Boost etc. I said all the flavours are good - they are - but a little sweet for me. WalMart also carries other protein bars - have a look - you may be surprised! Good luck and safe travels!
PS - When you are in Seattle - check the stores for the Special K protein bars. I bought some last year in Florida - they aren't anywhere in Canada so far that I have seen. They are really good - I am going to Florida this week and will be bringing back a bunch of them!
PPS - The best energy bar I have ever had is by Six Star Muscle - called Six Star Energy Bar - unfortunately - it's really hit or miss in this neck of the woods if they are stocked in the store or not. I have found them at both Bhoppers Drug Mart and WalMart over the past few years.
