An idea for walking fun.

Have you heard of Geocashing? Geocashing is looking for a "cashe" that has been hidden by another Geocasher. You need a GPS to find the cashe. If you have a GPS for your car, you may be able to do Geocashing.  My GPS has a feature where you can ask where you are in degrees longitude and latitude. On the geocashing web site, you can locate cashes near you home, within so many miles by inputting your postal code. Some cashes have nothing more than a log sheet, others have trinkets to trade, and others have items that are intended to me moved to another location and the movements are tracked on line. A bobble head of a CBC news personality recently ended up in Norway. I went out walking tonight trying to locate 2 cashes near my home. There are several more within walking distance of my home. It was a fun way to vary my walking route and I walked further than I normally do.

Yes - I have heard of it and it sounds SO COOL!!! Sadly - I don't have a GPS in my vehicle - or on my phone. I'm not sure of the numbers of caches in NL - but I do know there are plenty in and around St. John's. One of the girls I work with is a guide leader and it's one of the activities they do often. Enjoy!!!!

Doing it with a car GPS is not the easiest way to do this, but I want to see if I enjoy doing this and maybe get my DH hooked too. If that happens I will by a unit intended for Geocashing
