first fill done

Well I had my first fill, from Dr.B on Monday, and it went very well. He put 3 cc in my 14 cc band. Wish I had remembered to ask him if this rasp I sometimes get in my throat is normal, once i clear my throat its gone, but it is consistently every day. The nurse said she didn't know. Anyone else out there have this. Am on fluids for 2 days and purees two days and have lost 2 pounds after day one, I so love my  band and so thankful medicare pays for this. See-ing family  doctor next week to check with him about going off insulin, and going on the pills. My sugars are lowering enough that the pills should do the job, and hopefully when I have lost more weight the need for those will also no longer be necessary. Tried going off BP pills but did not tolerate that, so will wait on that for now. This site is great and thanks for  the information you all  share, it makes this journey less stressful and encourages me to continue.

Wow, you are doing great! I have lost 65 pounds and am still on insulin...but I am down to one long acting shot from 2 mixed and one long acting. You may want to try Lantis or Levamire- one shot a day and that's it.

Wow that's great! And to maybe come off insulin or at least get it decreased is just wonderful! I agree - this board is awesome. Take care!
