am I stuck??
I have had a icky feeling feels like a lump in my lower throat. I stayed on liquids yesterday and today but it just does not feel right or good, I have not thrown up . i think if I were to it would feel better but I just can not ---not that I have tried ---- I hate throwing up but I was miserable last night ot able to lay down and sleep. Now this morning still there. Any suggestions?
Hi,
From my experience, there are two different types of stuck:
- The stuck where you eat and it feels jammed little bit. For me, I just stop eating, stretch, jump in the air and in a few minutes (sometimes can last about 30 minutes) the pain goes away and I’m fine.
- The major stuck. The kind where you can’t breathe, the pain is intense, and really the only solution is to get it out. This should not happen often but let’s be realistic here, it does happen. If it comes back up, you should get relief immediately.
I have never been stuck for a long time. Usually 30 minutes is the limit for me. It may be different for some people, but I’ve often heard people say “If you have to ask if you’re stuck, you aren’t" so I am doubtful your experience is an actual stuck.
I have never experienced a lump in my throat though, so keep an eye out on it. Didn’t this happen to Kittymom early in her journey? Maybe she can help. Sorry I couldn’t, hopefully someone on here as experienced this and can offer more guidance.
Mon
Early on, I could "feel" my band and it was a weird feeling, but it didn't stop me from sleeping. I would stick to the liquids for another couple of days. I would also consider an ant-acid. When acid reflux caused my stoma to swell, it felt like what you are describing. I didn't have heart burn either (like I did when I had acid reflux before the band). Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Something hot may help.
