more liquids, nom nom nom
it's been 6 weeks since my surgery and i had my very first fill yesterday. so its back to liquids and mushies for the next 4 days. is it bad that the thought of chocolate pudding keeps me going?
the fill wasn't what i had expected, i was prepared for a lot of pain and discomfort and to my surprise, neither happened. the worst part was dr. savoie searching for the port with his fingers before the needle was even close, and that was because i'm still tender from the surgery. needless to say it's not bad at all :) this coming from a girl whose been terrified of needles forever.
Hi!
Great to meet you and happy to hear you have gotten your surgery! Fills aren’t that bad huh? I’m not much of a needle fan myself (I faint at blood tests), but like you, I found them painless (except that whole “find the port" game!).
Welcome to the board and welcome to banded life! It must have really helped seeing your mom go through this a few years back. I was lucky also because my best friend was banded in 2005 so I plagued her with every question you can think of and stared at her eating on numerous occasions. It helped a lot!
=)
agreed, find the port is probably my least favorite game since monopoly..
but they really arent bad,
im kinda half over my needle thing now, because no one could find my veins for bloodwork so i spent am hour getting stuck each time haha, oh the perks of surgery!
having mom going through it, and watching the good and the bad really did influence my decision a lot, she's super supportive o fmy choice too which is always helpful.
wowww! your best friend? thats awesome :) thank you very much for the welcome :):)

I hear you about the needles. I hate needles too. After my surgery I had a big bleed so the nurses came in every 30 minutes and tried to take blood. With really low blood pressure it was hard to get a vein to take blood so every 30 minutes were a nightmare of trying to get blood. It took then so long sometimes they actually missed the 30 minute deadline because they spent 35 minutes poking me to get blood. A nightmare for sure.
