I go in for my first fill in Feb. and am not happy to be going in and knowing I have lost nothing since having my stitiches out. i have no restriction and dont even feel like I have the lapband. Will they be upset with me, I am such a chicken, I just dont want to feel like a failure, shouldnt I have lost some weight.??
First of all, no they won't be mad! They are really caring people. Look at me, I am suffering from depression and going through a separation and all they had was good advise and compassion.
When I spoke with the nurse she was so nice, she told me that all she wanted to do was help me succeed and while I cried she held my hand and told me we could do this together. I believed her. She cares.
Dr. B was exceptional with me, he listened and wanted to help. I had my first appointment with Amanda and she is going to be there for me to talk to honestly every week. I felt like no one cared (other then my fellow comrade's on the boards) and alone. I don't feel that way anymore.
Remember, you just had surgery and your body needs to recover. The period after your band is to help you settle into a routine and heal. Give your body time to get moving, and don't take on this guilt of feeling like your failing others. You can do this, and they will help.
So, no judgments on yourself. Put one foot in front of the other and remember you are taking the first steps in healing your life. Be proud, others would not be this brave to have surgery!
Remember this board is where you come for support. Post often and honestly and you will get all the support you need!
