I think that you are eating too fast and may be taking too big bites.  Make sure you are chewing enough too. Count your chomps. You shouldn't be thirsty. Other than the window for meals, you can drink as much as you need to satisfy your thirst. Why aren't you able to have ice water? Water is the only thing the flushes your fat away.

I just want to throw in my 2 cents again here.  you are NOT allowed to drink as much as you need to satisfy your thirst.  You are ONLY allowed  1500 mls of water per day.  which is 3 x 500 ml bottle of water.  i get scolded everytime i go over that amount.

Hi, Figler -

I had to rush to the ER one afternoon b/c I had severe chest pain after a meal the night before.  It was definitely because I had eaten too fast; not necessarily too much.  It's referred pain, and it's certainly not fun.  They gave me a full work up, and there was nothing amiss, but it's not something I want to experience again b/c of any potential complications that can occur to the band.

Try eating slower, even if during your meal you think it's okay.  I wasn't hit with the pain for an hour or so after I ate.   Good luck :)

Thank you both, Kitty they told me not to drink more than 6 glasses of water a day I always drank about 8-10 glasses a day. And I always drank  large amounts at a time so I am adjusting :). I am going to my own doc tomorrow to get some blood work done , sugars and thyroid to name two:)

I have pain in my chest area if I eat too fast :) This is normal, well for me. I usually have a small ache in the chest directly after a fill which goes away.

Why is it that Dr. B patients can only drink a certain amount of water?

Everything I've read tells me that I should be striving for 64 oz of water a day.  I've never been told by Dr. S or his crew to limi****er intake.  Regardless - I guess you need to do what your Dr. tells you, huh?  :)  The only water rules I've heard were regarding when to drink it, and when not to drink it.

I'm not a bandster as you know - but my first thought is to tell you to slow down with your eating. And - if eating after 6pm makes you wake up feeling nauseous - try not doingit for a while. Your body will change and adjust. You will be fine! Good luck!
