Thought I was doing pretty  good , keeping a food journal, drinking my water and trying to walk at least 15 kms a week. Than I saw all the lap band rules and realized my snacks have to many cals , I am not eating enough protein and I had the whole water thing switched ie not drinking for an 1 hour before I ate and 30 mins after.

I have not yet had a stuck feeling or have I vomited. I am hungry and have set my cal intake at no more than 1500 before lap band I was taking in at least double and many triple this amount. My meals are eaten on a bread plate.

I am suppose to have a fill tomorrow and was really hoping to cut back to 1200 after wards but now I am stressed and thinking has my band slipped have I hurt my pouch?

I am the same as you, done in december, and I have no restriction either, can eat anything and quite a bit more than the 1 cup reccommended, I am wanting to eat 2 hours after a meal, and dont even feel like I have a lap band, am doing the rules pretty well, and losing , albeit slowly.
I have an appt for feb 15th, so am hopeful I will feel more restriction.. i think this is normal, since we are yet to have our first fill, correct me if I am wrong. anyone?

I had a fill last week and having a time with food,But that will come in a few weeks.

Are you going to Moncton for your fill?  My  appointment is for 2:15 - regular fill.  And I do mean regular.  This will be number 6 for me.  Is there anyone else from the OH board planning to be there tomorrow?  Love a good reunion LOL!

Your band hasn't slipped...you are just in that dreaded bandster hell.  it happens to all of us.  it takes several fills before you get good restriction.  so be patient and don't worry.  trust me on this.

So I got my first fill it was an experince apparently my port has turned on its side , the nurse tried to find it and could not Doc found it showed the nurse and she still could not access it he pulled out the needle which was bent and got a new one, I really did not mind it except for the blood that ran down my side and got on my dress oh well :). He had me sit up before he gave me the whole dose and I was able to drink no problem. He said when I go back in six weeks for a fill I will have it done in xray.

I decided to go to a movie with my hubby to keep my mind off of food and in the middle of the movie when of course the whole theather was very quiet my stomach growled so load my hubby began to laugh ----and it was not a funny movie the guy in front of me turned around it was so loud.

I asked for an exchange list so the dietincin got me the diabetic one the sample menus is for 1500 so I am going to change it around to take in only 1200. I told her I was going to bring it to someone local who could hlep me with exchanges and selecting high protein foods. She thought it was a good idea.

So on fluids tomorrow  packed some yummy looking soup for my work meeting and then soft food this weekend.

Thank you everyone for helping me through this. Kinda weird but I really wanted to beable to feel some restriction but as long as I am not hungry I can live with out it.:)

You won't have to count calories (as long as you make good choices) once you have restriction because you won't be able to eat more than a cup of food. Vomiting, getting REALLY stuck, and not being able to tolerate certain foods doesn't usually happen before restriction either. From February to July, when I got restriction, I would brag that I could eat bread. After the July fill, even a small bite would get stuck.

BTW they always sit you up to drink before removing the needle. They don't add anymore unless they lay you back down. They do that so they can take some out if you can't drink.

Hope things go better for you now Figler 5. Sounds like your fill was really an EXPERIENCE - and not a pleasant one at that. Who ever said all the WLS stuff was the easy way out - needs to read more of different people's experiences. Wish you smooth sailing!
