Whatever happened to..........

Whatever happened to Ann, Penelope and the others? I haven't heard from them for so long. I wonder if they even still lurk here anymore? 

If you guys are out there, there are people here who care about you and would love to hear from you. How are you doing? Have you reached goal or are you happy where you are. Are you still getting fills or have you reached your "sweet spot"? What's happening? How's it hanging? Come back and rejoin us here at OH. We were all like family.
 
You guys were such an inspiration to me when I first came here seeking advice and encouragement and I  don't forget that. If I can offer encouragement or a shoulder to someone, I'd be glad to. 

 
I haven't lost a pound since November but even if I never lose another pound I am happy where I am weight wise. I am healthier and can do so much more physically so losing more weight now is a bonus and I don't care if I lose more or not really. I never went into this to be a model or to wear bathing suits. Just to be healthy and I am.  

Hi Maggie - (and everyone) - I'm still out here - doing well. You know -  you and I had the same highest weight. And I too settled in at 180lbs and was very happy at that weight. I didn't drop any weight for months after that - UNTIL I got very sick and ended up having surgery. Not a good way to lose another 17lbs. I don't reccomend it! Since then I bounce bnack and forthe between 160 and 167lbs. A big range - but that's what it is. I don't find my clothes size changes with that variance - so it's all good. And I FEEL good - which is what it's all about!

About the get together in PEI - want to do it - would LOVE to do it. Problem is I would HAVE to co-ordinate it with an appt with DR. B. He wants to see me 6 months post-op which would actually be March - but I'll try for that time frame in April. So - I can't commit to getting together with you guys until I can firm up the appt. Hope to be able to do that within the next few weeks - they wouldn't even think about it before Christmas. SO - if I miss out on accomodations - and bunking in with someone and getting a ride with someone - I'll work it all out - I do have somewhere to stay just 20mins outside of Charlottetown anyway - so I'm not stuck. And as for a ride- I'd have to get a rental anyhow. SO- don't count me out yet! And yes KC - I will be spending time with you one way or the other! If you are up for it of course!

Hey Mary, sounds like you are doing well. I'm glad you will be seeing Dr. B. for follow-up from your surgery.
 
I never get to see him. Everytime I see him, he always says "I'll see you in 4 weeks or 3 months or whatever and I never hear from his ofice again.  After my stenosis dialtation, Dr. B. said he wanted to see me in 3 weeks but I  never heard from them and when I called to make an appointment,  I was told I couldn't but had to wait for them to call me. That was last March.  I saw Dr. in Aug and he said he wanted blood work in Nov. Haven't heard from anyone. My anniversary is coming up in February. Wonder if I will hear from them then. Not complaining just find it strange. Not much on the follow-up care.

I wonder how the other RNYers are doing?

I moved and got a new phone number but I did call Dr. B's office and left it on the phone message so I wonder if they got it?

I can't make PEI in the spring. It would have been nice to get together with everyone. I'll be there in spirit though. Sounds like it's going to be a great time!

Marymother- Call the nurses and tell them that he wanted to see you and when and say you have not heard from the office.

Mary, If transportationis the issue with PEI, i would be happy to swing down and pick you up.

Here I am !!!!!  I'm a major lurker.  I love reading all your posts but iseldom take the time to write, as you know.  I finished the challenge and have been eating poorly ever since.  I need another challenge to get me back on track.  someone please start one.  i was called to come for a fill last weekbut i turned them down.  i have had awesome restriction up until now, where i find myself eating too much.  the restriction was unbelievably rewarding.  i didn't lose alot with it but it was my own bad food choices.  but the fill felt great.  they are leaving it up to me now to call when i want a fill rather than them calling me and not needing one.  So...I'm doing fine.  trying to get back on track but need a challenge.  so someone please start one PLEASE.  Anyway, i'm always here but mostly reading and not writing.  Hope all is well with everyone.

i got all excited cause i was missed so i wrote to you yesterday and looked today and no reply...none.  oh well.  here i am again lurking.  I'll always be here, but not much to say.  still waiting for a new challenge !!!!

Hey Penelope, Good to see you again. Is you weight stable despite the bad choices?  My weight shot up like a rocket  once I had an unfill and was able to eat. Christmas didn't help either, but no one held me down and forced me to eat. My weight has stabilized and started to drop. I have a fill tomorrow and  an hoping for a big fill. Will Dr B give a bigger fill under fluro?

Yes Penelope you are missed! And thank's Kitty-Mom for the transportation offer. And as for not getting calls for appts with Dr. B. - apart from my seeing him when I was sick and required surgery this past summer - which was a totally different situation - I have found I need to be pro-active and call THEM. They are SO busy. So Maggie - please call THEM and keep doing it until you get the follow up care you need and want. And - I would reccomend calling Lise as well if you are not getting anywhere with it. Lise told me this past summer that they don't correspond by e-mail anymore due to confidentiality issues. Just wanted to put that out there so everyone is aware. Have a great day everyone!
