He arrived Christmas Eve at 1;50am. He weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces and is 21 iches long. He has a mop of black hair and he loves his Nannie!! Mom and son are doing fine. My girl has a rough go, but she is recovering fine. Barring any complications, they will be released tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. My poor daughter didn't sleep for 3 nights before because of contractions...just enough to prevent sleep, and she didn't sleep the night he was born- maybe a couple of hours- and he was up nursing every hour last night (no more substitution bottles or nurse for the night) and coming home today to 10 extra people in the house; she is exhausted.

The old saying "sleep whenever the baby sleeps" is the absolute truth.

Make sure she takes all the help she is offered.  Sometimes you feel pretty good and want to do things on your own, but it wipes out your energy and makes adjusting to the baby's schedule harder.

Congrats to Alexander's family.  He is blessed to have been born into so much love!

I couldn't agree more. I offered to go down for a week but she says no.
