Dr. Savoie

 Here we go again!!  I now have heard Dr. Savoie is not going to be doing the DS surgeries for another year or so because he does not have approval from the province .  Yet when you call the clinic they do not mention this!!!  I am so confused??  How do you start up a clinic without having everything in place? Could they not be up front about this and tell us when we check in every month to see what is going on? I phone every month to see if I am getting any closer to seeing him and not once did any of the ten different women I have talked to mentioned this. I don't even know what to expect anymore. I guess I just need to win the lotto and self pay in the states!!

Well I saw him recently, and he is doing lap band.  I'm so excited!  They told me that i'll likely have my lap band before summer!  It went so well, they are all so nice and made me feel at ease ( I was so nervous)  I'm looking forward to making friends here and I might also need a little support through the boost stages!

I don't know the source of that information. It may just be an urban rumor....but being an employee of the province, it sounds right. I'm sure that many promises were made to Dr S to get him to go to Bathurst (even if it is his home town). Then came the recession and budgets got cut to the bone. I expect that the cost of training his staff in Quebec is a big factor. Also front line staff may not know that budgets have anything to do with it....not for certain anyway.  I am sure Dr S is as frustrated as his patients. Also he is suspending seeing new patients for first consult so he can help our other WLS doctor reduce his 7 year wait list.

My sister saw Dr S for a consult 2 weeks ago.

It was posted here and I was told my the girls in Moncton.

The girls in moncton told you Dr Savoie couldnt get the approval?

They told me that he was not taking new referals and would be taking people from Dr B's list until the list was reduced to a reasonable length. That is what I understood, but they don't take time to chat and after what I read here, that is what I expected to hear.

Someone on here posted that he was not going to start the DS program until next  year.... .Which I took to mean, the new fiscal year- after April 1.

I was told by their office that they wouldnt be seeing me for my initial consult for a little while...She didnt tell me why, just that they couldnt give me a time frame cause new consults are on hold right now.

I heard this from another Dr.S waiter!!!! I have been getting brushed off when I call the clinic.
I just got my sleep study results today and I have sleep apnea and a sever case of snoring.


So I well call the clinic again end of January to see if they let me know about their big secret.
