Frustration

As many of you know, I am still on the wait list for my initial consult with Dr. S. I havent called Giselle in about 3 weeks now.  My referal was sent last December. I am trying so hard to be patient....the last time I called her she said it looked like maybe mid December to early January for my inital consult. I still havent heard anything. Being a nurse and working in the system, I dont like to bother them.......

I know to those of you who have waited 5 to 7 years this wait seems irrelevant or perhaps even miniscule.  I guess I just need a boost of enthusiasm.  I came on here hoping to read some good news, and from what I gathered they are not seeing any new consults for awhile now?????

You should be getting a call soon,I went to see him in Oct 17 2008 and then had my lapband in aug.
I would give them a call as if he did the ones from Oct in aug then you should be comming up for yours soon.Call them just to see they can let you know.Good luck

Give them a call Pennylyn. You are a nurse so you see how people worry when they wait. You know too that you don't mind when people call you because they are worried or concerned so call them and put your mind at rest.

I waited 5 years but even 1 year is a long time. So much happens in the space of a year that you can't get back again. You have every right to feel fustrated. Pick up the phone.

The worst part of the waiting is when you think the time is near....otherwise you just forget about it for the most part and check about once a year and forget it again. BUT when the time is perceived as close, every day is a waiting game.

GOOD things come to those who wait - having said that - DO call and see what the scoop is. It will make you feel better - that you are actively pursuing your appt - and you will get the info you need. Hang in there! I know it's hard waiting!

I spoke with them on Monday and was told that they have been advised to stop booking initial consults until further notice.  Dr. Savoie is helping Dr. Beausoleil with surgeries it seems.  She also said that they aren't quite done November of last year for initial consults as of yet.

If you give them a call and something is different, I'd love to know. 

Maybe the waiters can take turns calling every 3 to 4 weeks and keep the rest updated....

Could I have the number to call for Dr S? My friend asked for a referral last December, but the doctor sent it to Dr B.  She wants to check to be sure the mistake has been corrected.

Do not give up I am a nurse as well and have waited a number years my first year I called all the time then I just stopped calling but then I got my call this past June and my surgery is next week.

I appreciate your support!  I guess its like that old saying..."so close but yet so far".

I am so with you on this waiting game. It sucks.  I just wish they would give us more info. from day one it has been a different story with each person. I just wonder if Dr. Savoie is even ready enough to start the DS surgeries this spring.
