Everything hurts??

I have been having more and more problems with my band. (Yes I called Moncton- waiting for a call back). I have been getting stuck with increasing frequency. Last night I went out for supper and supper would not stay down. Since I up chucked supper, my friend offered me some of her dessert- cheese cake. I thought a few bites would be some nutrician, but it can back up like a rubber ball. Today I can only eat a couple of bites at a time and I have to wait several minutes before i can take another bite. Also my stoma is very, very sore when I eat anything. At one point it was painful to bend over- the increase in pressure on my stoma was painful.. Has this happened to you? Why did it happen? At the moment i am eating a bowl of protein added diet mouise and I am having a bit of trouble getting it down. Everything and anything I swallow hurts..

I hope you feel better soon.  Is it a long way from New Maryland to Moncton?  Does the clinic see drop in patients in the case of a problem like yours?  I will keep you in my thoughts!

I got stuck really bad last week. I wasn't able to hold anything down. Went back to liquids, ie, boost for a few days. Ate a bit yesterday and today, but not easily. I might go back to boost tomorrow till my appointment on Thursday.

Last week, swallowing that was difficult as well. I didn't have any pain otherwise though. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear about this. I know my band is extremely finicky. Sometimes I can eat no problem and sometimes I get stuck on everything I eat - even liquids. It's annoying - maybe try liquids for awhile? I know after a bad stuck, I can't eat for awhile because once I get stuck, everything gets stuck.

Right now though, I blame myself alot. My brain can't seem to adjust into eating slower. It's one of my biggest problems . It's because sometimes I can eat things at a faster pace and then I eat the same thing, at the same pace, and I get stuck! It's like the band can't decide what pace it likes.

Keep us posted on what Dr. Beau has to say :) GOOD LUCK

the band rules state that you need to go back to liquids for 2 days and mushies for 2 days.  yuou don't want to add any more stress to the stoma than already there.  it's very important.  trust me i've been stuck alot.

Charline, I am so sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I remember when Penelope was suffering with her band. I'm surprised the Dumont crew hasn't called you back. They are usually pretty quick. Please let us know what they say. Take care and hopefully this will pass quickly.
