Hi, I am new around here, and hoping someone will hear me!  I just got a date for surgery with Dr. B, it's Dec. 8th!  It's only two weeks away.  I am so excited!

After 7 years on a list, July for my info session, and today the call!  Now I hope presurgery tests go well, I am afraid because I had given up on ever having surgery done.

Pray for me, send advise!  Chrissy

I am so happy for you Chrissy, I bet you are walking on air with excitement....I got next Thursday for my first visit to Dr. B and I hope I don't have too long a wait after that for the rest of the appointments and information sessions before a surgery date.....How long did you wait from your very first visit with Dr. B to see if he would take you as his patient until you just got your surgery date?

Congratulations again to you woohoooo

Thanks so much for answering!  I feel lost and overwhelmed tonight and I can't sleep, so I snuck downstairs and there you were!

I had my first meeting with Dr. B in July 2009, and then two weeks later I had my information session, which is an all-day event.  The nurses in the Bariatric Clinic are really nice, and you meet the dietician and therapist also.  At the close of the session we met Charlotte, a very successful lapband patient who seemed to have made sense of all the info you've been given and is loosing weight!  She was the one thing that seemed real to me.

So today I got the call for pre-op assessment, that makes a total of 4 months.  It seems like so much longer, each day that went by and I received no call seemed like forever, but now here it is.

I know you'll be great.  Dr. B is young and fresh and he will give you all the people around you to help you succeed.  Keep me posted on your meeting!

OMG, CONGRATULATIONS CRISSY!!!    WELCOME.

The time will fly now. It is scary and exciting all rolled into one. You must be starting you liquid diet today or tomorrow, are you?  The first few days of the liquid diet are a bit hard but we have all been through it and we will help in any way we can. This is a super great site to come to for support. The folks here are wonderful. No doubt you will be hearing from Charline (Kitty-mom) soon. She is a wealth of information and will support and encourage you through thick and thin. (Pardon the pun)

If you ever need to vent or need some of the experience of someone, come on in. Which surgery are you having? There are a lot of bandsters here. There are a few VBS and VSG and there are DS waiters. There are a few RNYers here too.

With the exception of me, there is no one crabby here. I don't bite though.

Vent, complain, pizz and moan all you want. We have been there and understand and usually someone has a suggestion to make it a bit better.

Glad you came to visit us. Come back often.

Welcome to the NB board and congratulations!!  I remember how excited I was... love reliving it. This is a great place for information and support. I would have given up many times were it not for the support I got here. It is a long and difficulty journey, even with the help of WLS.
I have a List i post and i will add your name to it. If you don't have an angel to report back to us on your day of surgery, get to know us and pick someone, because we will want an update ASAP after surgery. In return you get prayers, positive vibes sent to Moncton,  and lots of good wishes.

That's great news Chrissy! When I 1st read your subject field, I thought the date was like a romantic date and surgery date didn't even cross my mind! LOL!!

If Maggie is the cranky one, then I would be the fanatical runner! Since wls, I have become obsessed with running. In October I ran my 1st 5K and I am doing another one January 1st! Next Summer, my goal is to run a 10K! So as you see, fanatical!

Remember that this is a journey filled with ups and downs. Some days are easier than others, but in the end, when all is said and done, enjoy the journey!

Thanks everyone for giving me such a warm welcome!  I must say I spent all of today worried sick, and I know that things are finally changing for me in a good way!  I feel like I won the lottery!

I have to be honest that I am scared that Dr. B will change his mind tomorrow and not do my surgery.  I had a bout of depression accompanied by eating, and I think he will turn me down because I am sure I have gained weight.

I am so scared that if he says no I will never get a lapband.  It seems like my normal life of the past 12 years has turned upside down with my husbands job change, his moving to Nfld and my becoming a stay at home Mom with my daughter.  Add a flood in our house last month, and it sounds like a string of excusses to eat.

I will see tomorrow.  I just want him to know that I have waited so long, and I just keep getting sicker and sicker, and I am afraid I'll die while my daughter is young!  Sounds like I am working myself into a tailspin!!!!!

Send me peace and positive thoughts!  Chrissy

Welcome Chrissy!

Got your friend request and was so glad you came to check out/join our group :)

Take a deep breath for tomorrow.  Your time is near ... which brings excitement and fear - let it work for you to burn calories, lol.

Call me (same number) if you need anything.  Let me know if you would like me to be your angel if not picked anyone yet so we can know that everything goes well on surgery day.

Bet "B" and "C" are excited/nervous too.  If he needs to talk any concerns over from a spouse point of view have him call us - Lee has been well informed/trained/educated lololol.

Take care, so happy for you, girl friend ... (little belated but great birthday gift having a new life birthday!)

WooHoo you!  You're time is fast approaching..!!  I was on the list for quite a while too, my info session was in August...consent in Sept...just waiting for that call!  How long did you have to order the Medi Trim?  Or had you already ordered it in prep for the call??  I was told it can be delivered pretty fast...I hope so anyways!
Best of luck!!  I'm sure you will do great!!
