OMG!!!!! I got a call from Dr. B's office and have my first appointment!!!!!

I can't contain myself if I gould do back flips I would....I just received a call about an hour or so ago from Dr. B's office to see if I was still interested in surgery since early 2006 and I told her of course..."I would be stupid to say no I was not interested"  Anyway she gave me an appointment date to see Dr. B for Nov 18th at 2:30 so lets hope and pray he will except me as his patient and if things go well and he does then she told me the next appointment will be for the information session and then appointment for the signing of the consent form and then a surgery date.  She told me in total if things went well I would probably have my surgery within 5-6 months because Dr. B was about 2 months behind right now with things due to cut backs that they had in the hospital.  I am so excited and I know now that things are really moving along for me and I never thought in a million years that I would ever and I mean ever get a call from Dr. B's office if anything I thought I would hear from Dr. S's office first.   I am still leaving my name on his list only for the simple fact being that if I go see Dr. B. and he says he will not take mewhich I hope that will not be the case then at least I still have a chance with Dr. S.  and if he does take me then I will call Dr. S's office and tell them to take me off the list.  

Less then a month away for my first visit I am so happy I could just @#%^..lol

Sorry I haven't been on here in a very long time but I have had family health issues with my youngest son who had surgery the end of August in Montreal and now he had heart issues so it is an on going thing right now and I have been busy taking him to Halifax to the heart center as well as other doctor appointments it has been no stop.

Oh I also wanted to let everyone know that when I was talking to the receptionist at Dr. B's office she was saying that allot of peoples phone numbers that she had are no longer in service so it is making it hard for her to contact these people especially dated back to 2006 and also they are just now calling the names on the list for 2006 so the wait is very long with Dr. B.  it is very sad news to hear.

I will be hopping around the house for the next few weeks and trying to loose some weight before I see himand allot of praying each and every night that he will accept me as his patient...I can't see him not but who knows.   The receptionist will be sending me information on both the lap band and the gastric surgery in case he feels I am better suited for the other she is also sending me a map of how to get to the hospital etc.  I am so excited,....wooohoooo

 THAT IS WONDERFUL!!!!  I am so happy for you.  2006 -2009 that is actually quite a short wait compared to some - whatever... you are INNNNN.  Sending you lots of good vibes and good wishes and doin' the happy dance for ya!

Thank you so much Abby...I had contact Dr b's office back in 2005 but had to go through my family dr and then to see an Endocrinologist for a year then Dr B but I am glad things are looking up..and I so hope and pray that Dr B will take me on as his patient I can't see there being a problem but then again I don't know what he is looking for in taking a patient or what his expectations are.  Do you know? 

My son is doing better i but will have to take a beta blocker for his heart for the rest of his life and possibly open heart surgery next year but I hope that doesn't happen about the surgery.

 Not quite sure what Dr. B's criteria is but I'm thinking it depends mainly on your BMI, past attempts to lose weight and what you might have for health issues related to being over weight.

How old is your son?  What does the surgery hinge on?   I'll pray that he won't need the surgery.

My son's heart is enlarged on one side and one of the arteries to his heart is dialated(sp) they are keeping a close eye on it as he is only 17 and the specialist has seen in the past that teens at this age tend to grow more and things change...so they will wait another year and see if there is any changes if not he will not need surgery to repair but will still need to be monitored closely.

I will keep everyone posted on any other information...

Oh Witney, I am soooo happy for you!!!!!!  i see you want lap band so I am sure Dr. B. wii have no problem getting you in for it. I wish you all the best and the same for your son.

Thank you, I am so excited and especially knowing now that I will be on the looser's bench soon...the ball is rolling this time and I hope it doesn't stop...wooohooo...there will be information sent to me in the mail for both the lap band and the gastric surgery but I hope he feels that I am better suited for the lap band.  I am jumping for joy...

Thank you....post post post...lol  Before I know it I will be on the other side...like I said before I never thought in a million years that I would even hear from Dr. B's office and especially before even getting a call for a first consult with Dr S as I thought things would move faster with the new doctor....I am so happy it is unreal. Can't wait to meet Dr. B I hear allot of very good things about him and as well he is not hard on the eyes from what I have read.
