Finally have one night left. Surgery at 3pm tomorrow. My stomach is tied up in happy and terrified knots. Oh, maybe that's growling from day 10 of my liquid diet.... LOL!! As of today I lost 13 pounds in those 10 days and 8 pounds on my diet the week before. I am a surgery newbie and, although I am a nurse, scared half to death. Having second thoughts all day and woke up at four this morning with my head racing!! But my nerves are just like my belly growling... proves to me that I am alive. Wish me luck you guys. I am aiming for the loser's bench!

All the best to you Jill!!!  Somehow it is reassuring to hear a nurse say that she is nervous.  Guess i thought my nerves came from not knowing what to expect :-)  Your new life starts tomorrow and we will be here to welcome you with open arms to the losers bench.  Do you have an angel to report back on your progress?   BTW - congrats on your weight lose so far!  Look forward to hearing about your journey.

I am looking forward to seeing you on the loser's bench!!  Let us know how everything goes and that you are well as soon as you feel up to it. We want to know all the details- it should be interesting to compare to a Medicare band experience.

Best of luck tomorrow. I will be sending prayers and  positive vibes to CT tomorrow.

Being a nurse does not make you braver than the average surgical patient. I am a nurse and I did have a major complication so it really does not matter what your profession when it comes down to it, you are still a scared patient.

Welcome to the losers bench, Jill. Hopefully you will have a speedy uneventful recovery. Please let us know how you are doing. There are a lot of wonderful bandsters on this site who are angels at sharing their experiences and helpful hints.

I would expect that this might be on of those times when having more knowledge might not be a good thing.  Either way surgery is kinda scary.  Not sure that I want to do it again any time soon - it seems I have a hard time waking up - guess I just like to take advantage of a chance to get a few extra ZZZZ's.  Other than that I think my surgery went quite smoothly.
