Has anyone heard when Dr. S is going to start first consults or if he has started doing DS surgeries? I know they said fall. Well fall is here. I also seen on the list that someone is booked for Dec.16 for lap-band surgery. I wonder how well in advance does he book his surgeries? Just waiting for something, anything!

I hear you Steph, I have been on a mad hunt for someone in Canada to do the DS...even if I have to self pay. I've been in contact with Dr Christou's office in Quebec but I'm not sure if he does the DS, I think he prefers the laproscopic VSG but Dr Court who is an associate does the DS but then I heard he is only doing patients on the public list. It seems so crazy trying to figure this all out

I haven't heard any concrete news yet. I called last Friday to see if they could tell me anything, but the receptionist said that there was no news on when anything was going to roll. I'm getting all paranoid that they might be scrapping the whole thing if they can't get any funding for it, but I'm kind of pessimistic at times. :-/ Oh well, here's to another month or so of putting off life. :-D At least when you're on Dr Beausoleil's list, you're told right away that you have a 5-8 year wait so you know where you stand. I'll probably get a call from his office before I do Dr Savoie's. Haaaa. I'm such a cranky pants. ;-D

Hi everyone....well I was a Dr. Savoie office on Monday for my check up and I asked about the DS surgery because I know someone that is waiting for that surgery too and I was told that the surgery will most likely not be done until next April (2010) because of the contract they have with the hospital. Also they are not equipe and the goverment has not yet give them the money for the go ahead to start those procedures.
They are pushing for it and they really want to get the ball rolling but I was told that it will probably only be mid 2010. Right now they only have the go head to do the LB and it will most likely stay that way until April for sure!!! Sorry I thought I would share my info. with you guys!!!
