Nova Scotian in CT and THRILLED to find you guys!

Just found this site on OH and was thrilled! I am from NS and have been living in CT for almost 20 years now. How great to find all of you here. I am on my last few days of my liquid diet before I have my lap band surgery on 10/28. Anyone have some words of wisdom for me before I join the ranks of banders and members of WLS!!??

You will find a great bunch of people on this forum who are willing to help and share their experience with you.

Good luck with your surgery.  As soon as  you feel well enough come back and post.  If you look back through older posts you will find lots of great information and tips.

Pay attention to what your doctor tells you and remember that your band is just a tool that will help you if you use it correctly.  This is not an instant fix and it will require dedication and committment for the rest of your life - which will of course be longer because you have decided to have the surgery.

Welcome to the best forum on OH. I keep a list ....called "The List" Original,  eh?   I am going to add your surgery to it. We usually have an angel that reports back to the group, since you are so far away, you could ask someone closer to you to let us know how you are doing post-op, or make us wait until you are able to report yourself....but we promise to worry.

You guys are the best! Makes me home sick just to be  in contact with the warmth of the Maritimes! Thanks so much for your good wishes. I will keep you posted. I have been so lucky with my freindship group. Three of my buddies are on the 10 day liquid diet with me for support! Cherry on top to find this site!
