I have successfully completed my first 5K race!   I am not sure what my time was, but I ran the entire race and that was my goal. It was so cool when I crossed rhe finish line, the radio announcer called my name and time; that was such a great moment!

I want to encourage all of you to go for your dream. If someone would have told me 2 years ago that one day I would run 5K continuously, I would have laughed. Well, this morning, I did it!

Running for me is similar to post WLS. The head hunger we battle post-op is comporable to the mind battle this morning to not quit, but just keep on running. Another barrier broken. I am over the moon.

Well. going to the gym now. Don't think I'll work out; just going to sit in the sauna today.

Thanks ladies. This race was against myself. Most my life I've felt like I wasn't good enough, skinny enough, whatever. Today, by completing the race, I proved to myself that I am capable of accomplishing great things. I have been my worst enemy for wat too long; today that changed.

When I got to that spot where I wanted to quit, I refused. I thought, there is no way I am falling short this time. This was all me.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement.
