Runny Nose
Recently I have had situations where I know I am full, the first time this has happened since surgery for me. I think I am almost at my sweetspot but not quite so I can still eat too much and I am not losing weight.
Nevertheless, a runny nose is one of those triggers. Some people get a funny feeling at the base of their neck, or an itchy face, or a runny nose, or a twitchy eye.
I have to say that recently I have not been having stuck episodes. I have only had a few times when I thought I was stuck or had a productive burp.
Oh and another sign for me that I am full or getting full is when I hiccup. Maybe as many as a half dozen times.
I think I a finally starting to get a feel for this and recognizing the signs my band and my body are giving me. I really think one more fill and I will be at my sweet spot.

I am a fast eater and have slowed down some but still hurry through my meals and I need to work on slowing down to recognize the full feeling not the "oh I ate too much and my nose is dripping!"

OK so I really do need help decyphering this......I have no clue!!!! Am I hungry, am I full, do I need to pee! These are questions that I need answers to....Thank God I am seeing my surgeon next Thursday. In all of the information we were given, never has this been mentioned. The only sensation I ever have is a pain just below my breast bone between my boobs. It feels like "stuck" but how do I know if it is actually a stuck feeling or a "full" feeling. And the pee thing, well I have no idea when or if I need to pee. I think my triggers got put to sleep when I did and it never woke up. I just go for the sake of going now. Most times there is nothing but a dribble. How do I get used to my new innards!! I am going nuts here. Any help or advice will be taken very seriously.
Scarastically yours, Sugarbear
Carmen hon - you crack me up - ok slow down - what pee thing - we were talking about some us get a runny nose or sneeze or some hiccup when full or too full or some feel it as they are getting stuck!
You may not be someone that has this type of cue- its not a given - not everyone has it - like you know when RNY people talk about dumping - some do - some dont
Ok so back to the pee thing- oh first stuck for me is very painful and I end up at a point of no return I couldnt eat anything else - I would like to puke but cant always now that I am further out - a full feeling to me is much less intense and not that much different from before surgery - well yes it is different in that before surgery I always was full but kept shovelling food in and ignored any type of satiety feeling.
Ok the pee thing- if you are not peeing- are you drinking enough fluids - do you have pain like a bladder infectin pain ? You shouldnt wait to see the surgeon on that - your family dr can rule out infection other issues- you can also email Diana with any questions .
You are still new out - you are still healing so the pain you are feeling - could it be that you are not taking enough time to eat your meal - I am the queen of rushing I never slow down enough like I really should - are you measuring all your meals to make sure you are not over doing it volume wise - and even then you may not be able to get all the protein/food in - I was 6 months before I got any quantity into me at a meal that was even close to what was recommended.
Ok take a breath- have you posted questions on the VSG forum - the veterans will be able to answer this one probably really quickly - our innards are different babe - so I am not sure how your full feeling feels - everyone is different but usually with same surgery comes a lot of the same issues or similarities post op.
Make sure you post on the NS board too for the girls over there that dont come over to NB regular there are lots of vsg gals out there.
