Met with my Endo today...

He deals with Dr. Savoie's office at times. I spoke to him about my referral for WLS and these are a few things he said to me:

- lapband is best choice for me due to malabsorption issues of vitamins that my body has
- Dr. Savoie is only allowed to do 60 lapbands/year...he thought that was a shame due to   Dr. Savoie's expertise
- down the road that SJ will have an aftercare clinic for WLS patients not too soon though


In follow up of my other post, I called Dr.S on Monday to find out about my referral and had to leave a message on the answering machine. I didn't get a call back yet.

Dr. Savoie can only do 60 laps a year? How is that possible? I'm sure he's already done quite a few since he begun in July and I was in his office on Monday and they have begun new consults. Maybe it resets itself in January 2010?

I think it is by fiscal year.
