new way of thinking

Isn't it strange? Before I had my wls, I hardly ever went a day without eating and to even suggest it was unthinkable. Now after wls I go days without eating solid food.

I see bandsters have to go on liquids and progress to puree and then solids folowing fills and we rny'ers some days can't do the solids so we go to liquids too. This is my 2nd day of ;iquids/puree because I've eaten something that upset my pouch and it is super cranky. I may try something solid but maybe not. We will see.

The strange thing is now we think nothing of it really. It's just a way of life and we will eat solids again in a day or two. I really can't remember going without food pre-wls unless I was having surgery or had stomach bug.My how life has changed.

I wonder if pre-ops know how many days they will go without eating post-op?  Funny but now it really is no big deal. I think the two weeks before surgery does a lot to prepare you for life post-op. It reinforces the idea that you can actually live without eating for awhile.

Funny you should mention this; yesterday, I went to give "my take" on life as a bandster @ the wls info session. One girl asked me if I ever get hungry. I answered that initially, say the 1st couple of months, the hunger is not real hunger, but head hunger, I am sure they likely did not fully grasp the concept, but they will! LOL!!

A couple of days on boost is no big deal and in some ways, makes life very simple!  ESpecially when remembering why we are doing this. I took my size 24 shorts that I wore post-surgery with me for a show and tell while wearing my size 13 skinnies!

I told the girls that as you said Maggie, this is a way of life. The wls is not magic, just a tool and like any other tool, it requires effort on the user's part.

Better get these kids off to school. I am off to the ER with my 12 year old. She suffered a mild concussion over a week ago, and is still getting pounding headaches, so they suggested having her re-seen. Have a great day girl.
