My new theme song

Sometimes I am my own worst enemy - thank goodness for my friends on this forum.  You have all sent me good vibes, good thoughts and so much encouagement.  I will get through this little bump in my road with your help.  I am not a big country music fan, I am not into Miley Cyrus by any stretch of the imagination but this little song she sings speaks to me and so I am going to claim it as my theme song - until I reach goal at which point I am changing it to "I Will Survive" or something silly like that.

This song says what I needed to hear - that it is not about losing the weight - getting to goal,  its about determination and relentless perserverance that will get us to where we need to be.  Its not about the end of the journey because there is no end.  We will always have to count calories or pay attention to portions, we will be living a lifestyle day in and day out - climbing always climbing.  I have always maintained that this is not a journey with an end but a process that continues ever onward and that leads to a longer life and a healthy life.  Journey's end - the process is for the rest of our lives.

I got chills when I read your post - that was the theme song from the retreat I was at - so many of the women had never heard the song before- I have heard it a million times on my daughters ipod/stereo but when you stop and read the words -wow its pretty powerful.

I will send these two songs along for you to chk out as well -

We were sent home with a cd of the retreat music - music was a big part of the 4 days and its very moving to listen to it over and over again now that I am back home in the "real world" - some songs -I had heard many of them before others were new but the way they were connected with the program or task we were doing - the song took on a whole new meaning - we were given the words to drive home the point!

Hey Deb,

I googled those songs - wow - they speak to who we are and what we are coping with daily.  I thing the song The Climb speaks to who we are and what we face and says that how we face the climb has a lot to do with how hard or how easy the climb will be.
