Hi , I am wondering how long after signing your OR consent form it takes to get a surgery date for Dr. B's patients . Does anyone know? Thanks

Lap Band on 04/28/09

It was 6 1/2 weeks (47 days to be exact) from the time I signed my consent until surgery.

I signed my consent forms on January 12 and had surgery on February 12.

Final goal      170 pounds ( reached Jan 5 2011) ( only stayed that weight breifly)

This is not meant to deter anyone - because the process HAS changed quite a bit since I had my surgery. But - I signed my OR consent and contracts in August 2007, and had my surgery in April 2008.

It varies depending on vacation time, if he is away for training, the number of OR days he gets, and if he has ordered extra tests. Generally it is about a month.....if nothing else interferes. With me I was expecting it to be a month and he put me on hold without telling me. I only found out when I called Nathalie and she said that she had not received the go ahead to forward my name to booking. I then called Lise to look at my chart....that's when I found out. It is funny - I don't even remember why he delayed me!! At the time I was bouncing like an Indian rubber ball!
