Today was Day 8 with the bandster!

Hey hey my peeps and Ann, my angel.

I'm doing great.   I had some visitors today and they said that I look thinner so that's nice.  I feel it.

Still on liquids for another week or so, so it's getting a bit boring.  I feel great though and I'm determined that this sucker is going to work for me!

I can't wait to have my first fill so that I know really how it feels.  Being on liquids, I don't feel any difference but that's normal.

I am blessed with a second chance and I don't take it for granted.  I know it's not always going to be ups, but I'm realistic.  I'm ready to tackle the downs and I'm happy to know that I can come here and have you to listen and support me.

THANK YOU!

You may feel some restriction for a week or so after each of  the first couple of fills.OR  you may not feel anything until you have had a couple of fills. I am telling you this so you won't get discouraged. We all know it takes 4 or 5 fills to get real restriction, but we all expect it after one fill. Human nature I guess.

Glad to hear you're doing well, Rachel! Like Kitty_mom said, we are all different. The first fill didn't do it for me (5 weeks out) but I persisted that I was STARVING and at 10 weeks out, I had my second fill. That took me to 6.5CC and I was good for over a year.

So Rachael ,  I can see where it would take a few fills to get good restriction.  You will be fine , is this your 1st one ? I should read back before I ask.   The advise from the ladies are priceless arn't they ?

Bread is the one food that is almost universally a no-no. A bandster will get away with it for a long time and you may even brag about being able to eat bread here (as I did), but that will end when you reach restriction. RnY'ers seem to be able to eat bread eventually. Personally I can't eat most baked goods. I can usually get away a nibble of a muffin or cake, but if that gives me the idea that I can have more than a nibble, I get stuck.

My first fill was the 28th of sept and I don't find it change things,I can still eat all I did befor,The only thing is Iam hungery more like every 2h,But I try not to eat untill 3h.I lost 2 more from the fill so that is good.My next one is on Nov 2nd so I hope that one will be better. So when you get your 1st one it may or may not change things.

I didn't get lasting restriction until the fill on July 9th- I had surgery in Febuary. With each fill, I felt restriction for a little longer.

Glad you are doing well Rachel - and yes - liquids are boring. BUT- take heart - you 'll be moving on to more exciting food soon. Well - if you can call pureed exciting - but it will be a change and progress for ya!  Nice to feel thinner isn't it? Take care----

When you first move to mushies, it won't take a lot to fill you up. Even if the band does not give you restriction, your stomach has been shrinking for a month. I thought that the residual swelling gave me a measure of restriction for a few weeks.
