I am SO sorry to hear that you have to get a new band. This is truly a bandster’s nightmare, to have a defective band or to suffer complications. I can certainly imagine this causing your some heartache which I’m sure did not help your weight loss efforts.
The positive spin is that Dr. B will correct this issue. While a 2nd surgery is never good news, at least you can be rest assured that you are in good hands.
I am certain that once you get a brand new band, things will look up for you. I applaud you for not giving up, and pressing this issue further. I’m sure some patients in your situation would have simply thought “I’m a failure to this surgery, this doesn’t work" and stop going for fills and give up. I’m happy you pushed this to get resolved and followed your gut instinct.
I have to ask though, did you discuss with Dr. B about revising to Bypass? Maybe you did not want it, but for me, should my band go wrong, I would definitely be considering a revision to another weight loss surgery.
I wish you the best of luck, and again, I am sorry for your troubles. Please keep us posted!
