Just wanted to share with my friends...
Tomorrow is my daughter's baby shower. I am more excited than she is! I am so looking forward to being a grandmother. WOO HOOO
As some of you know cakes are my "thing" and i am making her (I hope) a real beauty. It am using a cake stand that I usually use for wedding cakes. I am going to decorate the bottom layer in dark sky blue with clouds, stars , & a sleeping baby i am going to sculpt. the top layer will be a foot above and i am going to hang silver starts from it. The top layer will be blue and white with a baby shoe or a rocking horse. I cut out the stars last night and the cakes are all baked. I will post a picture (if i can figure out how- I have been having trouble posting anything from my trip!

You know Charline, being a grandmother has been my biggest inspriation to make this whole WLS thing work. I love playing with my grandson and granddaughter 3.5 and 1 respectively. I love being able to get down on the floor and play with them, hold them, pick them up and carry them. It is the hugest NSV I have ever had, sitting on the floor for sometimes an hour playing cars and coloring and letting my little granddaughter crawl all over me. All things I could not do just a year ago.
That you can make this lovely cake for your daughter is a blessing too. And your grand child will be so lucky to have a healthy grandmother who is active and eager to create a lot of wonderful memories.
I remember my grandmother was 59 when I was born and she was not able to play with me and passed away far too soon. My other grandmother was 38 when I was born but she did not have time to spend playing with me - she had a child of her own (the last of 13) who was 2 months younger than I. So I try very hard to make sure my grandchildren will be able to say that they remember playing with me and that I was a cool Nana.
You have done so well with your surgery and weight loss. I just know you will be a way cool Nana too.
Congratulations on the little bundle who is on the way to meet you. What a lucky little thing, little do they know all the wonderful birthdays they will have with spectacular cakes created by their awesome grandmother.

My maternal grandmother died when my Mom was expecting me and my paternal grandmother died when I was 4 and she didn't speak english. She was over 80 when I arrived. I think that is why I am so excited about this...I want to experence the grandparent- grandchild relationship. I so love babies too.
