The old tastebuds

The old tastebuds ain't what they used to be. Yesterday I was craving, no dying, for a cold Pepsi. I fought the urge all day and when my sons poured themselves a glass of Pepsi I could stand it no longer. I went to the fridge and got one of those tiny cans of Pepsi.I was looking forward to the familar tase of cold Pepsi. Then I took a mouthul. YUCCH  Took another two trying to find the familiar taste that I was craving. Nope. Nope again. It tasted just gross. Sweet sharp, icky sweet. Threw the rest oif the can away. I had a memory of how the Pepsi should taste and what I actually tasted was nothing like what I had imagined. Oh well, I guess that's it for the Pepsi craving. I now know it will never taste like I remember it again and whai I do taste is not something I want to taste again.

I guess you could argue that that's a good thing. Pepsi was one of my downfalls in my former life.

I wish I could lose my taste for Coke... I tasted some the other day (big mistake) and have been craving it ever since.

I resisted for a long long time too. All the stinking hot days of this summer, I resisted the craving. Was Coke a big downfall for you Charline? Before last June I drank about 2 liters or more a day of Pepsi. From June to Feb, I drank a can or two a day. Since Feb. I've opened two small cans and have had about 3 mouthfuls of each can. Hopefully your cravings for Coke will diminish. Nothing more annoying than a craving or an itch.  I thoink my craving for Pepsi is gone now. I don't daydream of Pepsi in a tall glass of ice cubes and crushed ice.

Coke was my drink of choice, andi didn't find it too hard to go without after the initial battle, but once I had a tasteof it.....well, it is like that first cigarette- just makes you want more!

I know how you fell.I was a big Pepsi fan too,But I gave it all up and did not have any from when I went on my boots.I don't miss it,and don't want it as I fell better with out it.
I was also a big take out and I went to pizza delight and had take out and it was not the same,So I never had take out again it has been a mth,Funny how things change.But it is for the best that we don't like it.

It was nices that you tryed it and now you know that you don't like it,And befor you could not live with out it funny ya..good for you no more pepsi..I even find some foods don't tase the same as they did so looking for diff ones that take good.

Speaking of food tasting different....I HATED baked beans before my surgery. Since the surgery I make a crock full most weeks.  Love them!

I know how you feel.  I consider myself a recovering coke addict....LOL...Coca Cola that is.  I gave it up in June after seeing Dr. Savoie.  I don't miss it all.  What a difference in recycling it makes let me tell ya...takes a few months to fill a garbage bag....when before...a week could do it...yes DH was addicted too.

I swear there's something in that Coke nd Pepsi that's addictive. I've never known anyone addicted to orange pop or root beer but I know a LOT who can't live without Pepsi or Coke. My son is hopelessly hooked on Coke. Sad really. He tries and tries to get off it to no avail. Almost like watching a cocain addict tryiny to beat coke.

You know it could be the caffiene in it that makes it addictive ,,, has anyone lost the urge for Tim Hortons coffee or tea ??  

You know the funny thing about Tim's is that when you first try it, it is absolutely gross. Strong gross and you must keep on tying it to aquire a taste for it. But Lordy Moses, once you do, you would push your own mother aside to get a cup. I know, I have been almost driven off the road in the middle of winter many many by someone on their way to Tims. I used to drink Tims but one day I sat and actually figured out how much money it was costing me a mointh to drink it and stopped cold turkey. I have not had a Tim's in almost 2 years. I think it was like 150 dollars a month or something. I could make better use of 150 dollars a month and make my own better tasting coffee. But that's just me. I am cheap.
