Do I have a chance?
According to my doctor, I have been placed on the waitlist for both Dr. B and Dr. Savoie (both referrals sent early last year). I have heard nothing from either office.
I am only 28 and am not on any medication related to my weight (other than depressions meds) but I have well over 120 pounds to lose and have a BMI in the mid 40s (I have tried losing weight myself, even working with a Personal Trainer but it doesn't seem to work). I also have a family history of basically everything - high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, cancer, arthritis, etc.
I have read the forums about wait times etc. Do any of you think I even have a chance of having surgery since I am not on any meds or have any immediate health problems? Or am I one of those lucky people who gets to wait 5-10 years for help?
All opinions welcome! Thanks.
It is all about your BMI if it is over 40 I think that is what it is you can have it done.Iam 28 also and have 100bls to loss,You should call the offices of both Dr and see if you are on the list,As I was sent to Dr S in sept and seen him in Oct then had the lap Band on Aug 19th,I hope this helps you.

You bet you have a chance....just make sure that Dr S's
office has your referral. Faxes or letters have a way
of being misplaced so for peace of mind, I'd certainly call
their office. If you didn't have a chance, your dr
probably would not have made the referral. And you may
develop all those lovely co morbidities as you age so it's
great to get the bull by the horn now to prevent any
damage to your body!!! Good luck!! And don't be shy
about calling ......your taxes are paying their wages!!!!
Keep in touch!!!
