I can't seem to lose any more weight. I've lost a total of 7 lbs and it's really hard to starve yourself to death and the scale doesn't budge.I'm afraid I'm not losing enough and may have the surgery cancelled!!! Anyone have any insight or suggestions!!!!!

Don't worry it is not to lose,It is for your liver.I only lost 10bls and was the same way as you.I called the day befor crying as I did nto lose that much and they said you can lose 5 or 10 and it all comes down to how your liver lookes.
As long as you only have the boost you will be good he told me that he did not send any one home from this that did this right.I was so scard that when I got up I asked if it was done,as I felt the same way.

Now that I know this I want to to hang in there every one is so diff some lose alot and other don't.They said as long as you lose 7 you are good and you are there. If you need someone to talk to you can call the # and they will talk with you.
Iam a slow loser and now I have 17bls and it is 2 weeks after the surgery,

So just keep thinking that it is not to lose but it does help.Keep in there you will have the surgery and be on your way.Stay strong just don't eat any thing,And it will happen.

Don't feel bad. For the whole two week liquid fast I lost just barely 6 pounds. I didn't worry about it. There was nothing I could do about it. I wasn't cheating or eating so I knew the lack of pounds lost were not my fault. The reason for the liquid diet is to shrink your liver not to lose weight so stop worrying and as long as you don't cheat, you've nothing to worry about. Hang in there, you're almost there.

Stick to your plan - it will all be ok. It's not all about the # of lbs lost as other posters said - it's about shrinking your liver a bit as well - making surgery less risky. Stick to it - you can do it!

You are right on schedule! Don't even fret! Dr. S told me most patients lose a pound a day, and you’re on day 7 and you lost 7 pounds!!! Perfect. Don’t worry about him not doing the surgery you are doing excellent.

I didn’t lose everyday either but it averages out! Stay strong you are half way there. I know it’s not easy but it’s so worth it in the end and you are doing great!!!!! Losing more than a pound of day is not realistic.

STAY STRONG!

Thanks everyone..this site is so great for support!!

Thank you thank you thank you.

I'm feeling a little more optimistic today and hopefully, it will stay with me for the rest of the time. And oddly enough, I seem to have more energy than before. I've been able to cut way back on my insulin and stopped another pill altogether!!! My family dr will be so pleased.  I was on massive doses of insulin!!

Hi Betty ,  could you tell me what kind of insulin that you are on ?  How much of it do you take for each dose ? I too take a LOT of insulin per day.
I take NOVO_RAPID .....3 TIMES A DAY .........About 35 units per time (average)
LANTUS -long acting at night .........180 units at bedtime.
METFORMIN......2 A DAY ...500MG EACH.

Hi Jesse...you have me beat on the insulin.  I take Novorapid,  40 units 3 times a day and Levemir 50 units in the am and pm.  I can't believe you take 180 units at bedtime.  I hope you don't take that all in one shot!!!  You're not supposed to take more than 50 units in one place. I only learned that after an appt with the endocrinologist...nobody bothered to tell me before!!  I also take that metformin 2x.   Since I started the liquids, I don't bother with the NovoRapid....it would knock me into the lows if I did!  I've been able to stop taking my Nexium and don't have heartburn or acid reflux any longer!!!!   I'm still holding at the same weight again today.  I'm noticing I can walk further than I used to so I may try throwing in a little exercise so that I can at least break from this stalemate!!!  Next wed is the big day.  I hope I go first thing to get it over with but then I hope I go for it later in the day so we don't have to stay over night on Tues.  We have dogs and I don't want to leave them for 2 nights.
This time next week I'll be fretting over something else!! Can't wait!!
I'm going to find your phone # again...it's here somewhere in an email and hubby will call you once I'm out of surgery!!!

Hi Betty , yes , sorry to say that I do take 160 (sorry) units of LANTUS (long acting ) at night . I use the solo star pen fill . It holds x amount of lantus . I inject 80 units on one side & 80 units on the other. So much , I know . I was told to keep adding the units until I got into the single digits in the morning . My  morning reading was high all the time.   I also take NEXIUM  . I will be happy to get off some of these meds that I am on .
I am happy that you will be going in soon  ...very soon .  YOU DID IT .......I knew that you could .... there are some dark days with the fast ....but not many !!
If your hubby  needs my # again, let me know & I will give it to you on PM.  Do you know when surgery time is yet ???  I am excited for you .
