Appt. with surgeon, Dr. Ellsmere
I got it.....I got the call today! Either Aug 27 or Sept 3. I choose Sept 3. Oh my God, I don't know what to expect. I have lost nearly 10 lbs and I feel great and I am getting used to eating off of little plates, and I am accostomed to smaller portions. What more can I do. Time to update the status!!
So, I am so excited I can hardly type. My understanding of this process is tha if we get to see the surgeon, then we must be approved by MSI. (If anyone knows different, please fill me in). We must take MSI Card along with our meds. From there I can only assume our names go to central booking and we wait our turn for the surgery date. Kim and I and Suzanne were all at the same first consult meeting back in February. It is so great that we are all going through this together if for nothing else but the support from one another. The surgeon is Dr. James Ellsmere. He has a partner, Dr. Dennis Klassen. So I guess that is all I know at this time. Better make ALOT of room for our butts on that loosers bench. Yesterday I ordered a bunch of bariatric food for after the surgery. They are handy for taking to work for lunches. Ironic that the call came on the same day. YEAH US!
Well I guess I better get my parking pass up to date for the hospital- cause I am gonna be doing a lot of visiting at the VG and saying sip sip - walk walk to you three "losers"
OMG its so exciting - and I am jus****ching from afar but so cool you are all starting off together!
Keep us posted!
hugs

Suzanne, I know you are just as excited as I am....I have goose bumps the size of jelly beans (the no fat ones of course) Diane just called (the english woman) My appt is at 9:30 and because I live so far away she is going to make arrangements for me to have all my pre-op tests done in the afternoon. I just cannot believe how fast everything seems to be moving along. ALSO, she probably told you this too, we will get our surgery dates on that day. Oh My God, I dreamed that this day would come but it always seemed so unattainable or I guess really did seem like a dream. I am so excited, scared, apprehensive but mostly excited. YEAH US!
Hi Carmen, my appt. is at 9, and she said it would take about an hour. Obviously all of that is not with the surgeon, or your appt. couldn't be at 9:30! We definitely should chat/have coffee afterward, even at the hospital, depending on what time your appts start in the afternoon! That is so exciting/scary/holy crap/is this really happening???
Weight lost since surgery (Oct. 1, 2009): 47 lbs
