Catching up on the OH News

Hi

I've been off line for a bit because my 61 yr old father had a stroke...by the grace of god there is no paralysis, he only spent a week in the hospital.  They also found a brain anyrysum on the opposite side the stroke hit but it is small so they are just monitoring it.  All this and they are moving from our homestead of 35 yrs in 2 weeks...its been crazy!

I've been plunging along on my battle.  I've been in contact with the Cleveland Clinic in Toronto and in Ohio and am trying to finish up the pre questionairre to send in and get things started.  My family doctor has send a compelling letter to NB Medicare to plee my case as well as I sent a letter to them too..we'll see how long that takes to get an answer...if so, it could be less that 2 months away for surgery...I'm determined to have it now and I am not letting anything stop me

Good for you Angela, and nice to hear from you again. You have to be your own advocate these days although it is great that your family doctor is pleaing your case. That might make a difference, you never know.

Whatever happens though, know that you have loads of support here at OH. Personally, I don't know what I would do without all the encouragement I get here and above all, from complete strangers. What does that say in itself. I love you all,

Hi Angela. i was wondering where you had gotten to. Sorry to hear about your Dad though but it is good news. Sounds like he will recover and be alright. As far as the anyrysum, most people die with them and not of them. Good they found it and will keep an eye on it.  Are you planning to self pay or will medicare cover the cost?
