I had my appt on Monday with Dr. Savoie, the dietitian and the nurse. It is like a dream. I just went through the motions and before I knew it, I had signed the consent form and was back on the road to home. It all seems so surreal. I've been waiting for this for months and it was over in a flash. Next step is that call from the hospital. He said before Christmas but the nurse said Sept or October. Everyone was so super nice and informative. They seem to be very excited about all the progress they have been seeing. The nurse tells me they have done 2 per week since June minus the 2 weeks he was on vacation. You have 2 interviews, so to speak, one with the dietitian and another with the nurse. They then go into the dr's office together and after a bit, you are invited in. Dr tells you that they all think you're a candidate. He asked me why I wanted the surgery, sort of catching me off guard and I got somewhat emotional. Told him I didn't care about the weight, I just want my life back. Simple things like playing with my grandkids, my dogs, my husband, walking, bending, gardening, housework and so on!!! I don't cry very easily so I was shocked at my reaction. My hubby tells me it was quite appropriate!

His staff is great. Very friendly!! I got mail this morning from them and thought it was the surgery date but it wasn't!!!! It was an information package that they forgot to give me on Monday! Light reading for the summer! Still waiting for surgery date.....I wouldn't mind to wait a couple months for that...let this process slowly from this point. I've been trying to practise my chewing and drinking and am not being too successful at that. Need to make signs to put up on the fridge to remind myself! Guess I'll probably learn the old fashion way.....trial and suffer!!
I have been waiting since Oct of last year....not long at all when you look at Dr. B's wait time! And no, I found out about Dr Savoie before I even had to ask for a referral to Dr. B.

I am in your cheering section for sure. I am going up on Sunday & staying all night , my appointment is at 9am , we would have to leave here in the middle of the night . I am happy that you got the go ahead ....now to get it in motion.
