Sharing my info ...

I  called the B'hurst hospital yesterday & I asked  her if I had an appointment  for August . She told me that I had an appointment for August 17 at 915am .   She also told me that I should be getting the appointment in the  mail . I still havn't received it as of today. This will be my 3rd consult. Remember my sugars were way to high .... in the 20's all winter. So I think that  they have been down good (for me ) single digits anyway. So , I wonder if he will give me my surgery date like he said he would . He told me that if it looked good ...surgery would be in 2 weeks.  The 2 weeks meaning the fast.   I am worried that  my sugars will not be what they should be . My GP is sending me for a lot of blood work & She is sending the results to Dr. S. So I have a couple of weeks to worry myself sick about this .  I can't  stand to wait anymore.

You will do good hang in there,I go for surgery on the 19th 2 days short to see you.
I will be in miramichi on the 18th .
You go for alot of blood work 2 weeks befor your surgery ,You wont get you date on the 17th they will call you that is what they did with me.

Thanks for the positive reply ...too bad we couldn't see each other.  Wonder if anyone has seen someone they know on the day of surgery ?I think he does more than one a day.

you should be fine.   I didn't get a call yet for surgery.  Still waiting.   I left a message yesterday with Corinne Degrace and she called me this morning.   She said that Dr. S. didn't send my sheet yet?   I think that's weird because when I saw him, he said that my surgery should be in August.   I'm not sure if I should call them or not now...

I'm scheduled for a MRI at George Dumont and they called me yesterday that my sheet was in "the wrong pile" so I know that human mistakes are possible....

Yes , I see what you mean about human errors , we all do it  don't we.   When it comes to medical issues I guess we have to be up on things ourselves . We  are just a name & number  , so we have to put  ourselves first for once.  I would keep calling until I got an answer when my surgery was .  Good Luck , keep us posted .

Wow! Why on earth don't they call you guys? I don't get that. I couldn't just be sure that I was off August 17th with a LITTLE notice. Anyway, glad to year your appt is coming.

How long have you been waiting for your surgery now?

I don't know why they don't call ...I guess they can't mind getting bombarded with calls from us !!!lol.   My 1st consult was in October /08.....it seems like a lifetime ago.  Second consult ...June /09. Third consult ....August/09 . Wonder when my surgery will be ??? 

I seen him Oct ,Then june and my Surgery is Aug 19th I went back for my 3rd last week,But had my date a mth ago.

I'm so glad for you ladies that there is now a second surgeon in NB. I waited 3 YEARS for my surgery.

What Dr S will look at is you A1C (3 month sugars). If stress puts your numbers up the day see the doctor, it won't effect his decision.  You can fool the A1C!  Stop worrying, all will be fine.
