Another questions regarding the lap band surgery....

Just wondering as to how long is it recommended for a person to take time off work after the lap band surgery? I was hoping to take atleast 6 months off...

I think  they tell you that you may return to work in a week or so !!!

Dr. Beausoleil will only give you certified sick leave for 2 weeks if you have no surgery related complications.  I was able to take an extra 2 weeks due to another issue.  You do not need 6 months by any stretch of the imagination.  This is an outpatient procedure in Moncton - you are discharged the same day you have surgery.  In Bathurst I believe you stay overnight.  But 6 months - heck I had my surgery 7 months ago and I would have gone crazy with 6 months off.  You are better off going back to work as soon as you can.  Best to get back to your life as soon as you can so you can get used to living the banded life and just get on with it.  The more you move the more you lose.

2 weeks is awesome!!! I was thinking that this would have been an invasive/painful procedure...
But the more I read about it, the more I am learning!!! I am soooo new at this.. Thanks again for the info, very much appreciated! :)

Yes it is. I just got back from my surgery yesterday. My surgery was Wednesday and I slept there and was discharged on Thursday morning.
