Liquid Diet - Day 6

Hi guys,

Day 6 on the liquid diet and I hate to whine because I’m not a whiner…but it’s so hard. It is much harder than I expected. I’m half way through, but my god what a surprise it’s been that it’s this hard?

I haven’t cheated once, but wow what a struggle. I’m very emotional and moody…could it be the the withdrawls from Sugar and Carbs?  700 Calories a day is pretty bare minimum.

I’ve lost 12 pounds though!

12 Pounds that is so good,I don't know if Iam going to be able to do this.I had to fast last week for 12h and that was so hard.
But you are doing good one more week,You can do it.It will all be so worth it when it is over.
If you can get thou this then after the lapband will be so much better.

Hang in there I know you can do it.I hard from people that you can be moody,That is why when you go to see the dr they want to meet with your other half to just give them heads up on it all.

We are all there for you..You are doing good..

700 calories per day?? I was on 920. Are you sure you are getting enough?  I thought that 800 was the minimum per day.
Hang in there! It should be getting a little easier.  I counted the hours, days were too long, I would just tell myself "one more hour down" "opne more hour and I will think about eating something" and I would say it again in an hour!  Keep your eye on the prize!

I did 720 per day and it is hard but it does get a little easier as time goes by and just when you think you can't make it, you're at the end. Chin up and remind yourself why you're where you are...one step closer to surgery...yipee. You're doing fantastic!

It really is hard. I missed my coffee the most. Because we wern't allowed milk, I didn't drink coffee. We weren't allowed sf jello or anything either. I think the ones after me who had bars had it a bit easier. At least they had something to chew. I was only allowed water, crystal lite and slimfast. That was it.  Oh yeah I forgot, I was allowed sf gum but forgot to ask till the last 2 days. By then i didn't need it.

Hang in there, you will get through it. Try not to cheat. Lise told me of one woman who cheated and when Dr. B got ready to do the surgery, her liver had not shrunk enough so he closed her back up and sent her home. She eventually had the wls though. I'd die if that happened to me.

You are almost half way there. Keep your eye on the prize. How good you will look this time next year. It's all worth it. By then this will be only a memory.

Thank you so much for the motivation guys! I just never expected it to be this hard! I really deal well with limits but this nice summer weekend was the worst for me. Not being able to chew or have variety is the hardest. I love water and the Boost isn’t so bad (I only like the chocolate), but after awhile it gets pretty bland and you feel deprived because you don’t have a plate or fork..or spoon!

I haven’t cheated and I won’t because it’s counter-productive, but wow what a mental battle it’s been!

I don’t know why I didn’t think it would be as hard and I have a hard time thinking no one cheated this!

Way to go 12lbs I know its not easy but you can do it you are in the home stretch!

Just a suggestion you mentioned you are doing the chocolate to change it up I added some berry flavours of crystal light to my choc Optifast - so I had if I remember Choc Raspberry - just something a lil different once a day for one of them - could not get the vanilla to my liking so just stuck with flavouring the chocolate- if I knew then what I know now about Davinci syrups I would have added them in to make other flavours - add lots of ice to them to keep the aftertaste down- the icier and frostier the better - keep a lid on it too - no smell - yup had all the tricks down pat!!!!!

Keep up the great job! Almost there - making some room for ya on the bench!

Be very proud of yourself ...just think  ...half way there !  AND  12 pounds down...WOW  , wonder what it will be next week ?? YOU CAN DO IT !!   I  think it would be very hard not to have solids too.  It's a mind game that you have to play with yourself , but not for much longer .
Good Luck  , like the others said , it will be all over soon  & on to the losing & feeling  better.
