HELP!!!! CONFUSED & PISSED OFF

Well DR TANG did not record what he said to me in his office just the exact opposite. He's sent a letter to my GP stating I need to lose only 40-60 lbs and go ahead setting up appointments with specialists. Nothing about "don't make another appt if you don't lose 100lbs!!" HE"S MAKING A LIAR OUT MY DH AND MYSELF!!!  His assistant says that doesn't sound like him. OMG now what can I do I have no confindence with DR TANG and according to MB health I am stuck with him!! 

I AM SOOO VERY CONFUSED SHOULD I JUST GO AHEAD SEEING HIM? I AM SCARED TO DEATH I MAY JUST SCREW MY CHANCES OF GETTING ANY WLS DOCTOR IF I SAY NO TO DR TANG!!

I personally could not put my life in anybody's hands "literally" if I did not like them or trust them.

Ok granted everyone can have a bad day but from what I read on the weekend he was totally insulting and un-professional!

Do you have a good established relationship with your gp that you will be able to explain your appointment to in detail - bring DH for backup if you need too if you think you might too emotional.

If you read on the Ontario boards there are a few select "specialists" that seem to call the shots for patients and what type of surgery they can have - what they must do to get approval- I see more and more that people are contacting their provincial medical division to protest- we have to be our own health care advocate -no matter what stage you are at with WLS.

In my honest opinion just like any other type of surgery you have to be comfortable with the surgeon - you need to be sure you trust this guy to do his job - Laurie I dont think this is where your head is with this jerk- sorry to be so blunt!

You dont have to accept anything  you are not comfortable with - you are in charge!

Laurie if he could be like this at a consult what would you do if you had an issue arise post op and he was being this much of a jerk!

Ok I realize that surgeons get a bad wrap for not having super bedside manner - their surgeons! lol - but seriously you have to know you can count on them with the chips down. I trusted my surgeon and he treated me with respect and he was in my corner the whole way - he wouldnt have been my surgeon if I had not felt at ease with him.

Just my 2 cents - stay focused - you can do this! Find out all your options - dont let him away with this - this is too important to you! To your health and well being!

I will echo what Deb said. I am a nurse and believe me when I say You and only you are in charge of who does what to you  medically speaking. You have every right to refuse to return to Dr A$$hole.

You just need to tell your family doctor that you are not at all comfortable with Dr. A$$hole and would like a referral to another wls surgeon

. As Deb suggested, take your hubby with you so your family dr knows it isn't  just your observation. There are patient advocates who you can talk to as well.

You said that you had emails from other disgruntled patients as well so this is not just your opinion.
 
Don't become intimidated by this jerk. There are a lot of really great caring wls surgeons out there.
