2 Week Liquid Diet - Question

Hi everyone,

 

Well, I begin my liquid diet on Wednesday and I have a few questions for you:

 

  1. Four shakes per day – does it matter when you drink it? Breakfast, Lunch, Supper and evening? Or can I: breakfast, Lunch, Supper and save one for in between meals in case I get hungry?
  2. Will I get hungry? Did you have hunger pains during your 2 week liquid diet? Or did you find that the liquids kept you satisfied?
  3. Do you think I can turn some into popsicles?

 

As you know, I am a patient of Dr. S and I will be drinking Diabetic Boost.

I did slimfast for two weeks. The first two or three days I was hungry but after reviewing my intake found that I was only drinking 3 instead of 4. Once I started to drink 4 I felt better. I ate sugar free freezies and water with crystal lite. I used to leave an ounce or so in the can in case I got hungry between "meals".  I don't see why you couldn't freeze them. It still the same boost either way.

I guess you must be getting excited by now. You will do fine. We have all been through it and made it. You will too!! It will be here before you know it.

 A bit hungry for the first couple of days maybe. I found the hardest part was just not having the comfort foods and not being able to chew something! It looks like a long stretch when you are just starting - but it goes by quickly.  Good luck - you CAN do it!

1. I don't think it matters when you drink them. I had one at each meal and the forth around 9:00pm, if I could wait that long. Evening is my worse time for snacking.

2.I was not hungry after the first couple of days, but that does not mean that I didn't want to eat.  As you probably know, wanting and needing to eat are 2 different things. I also allowed myself zero calorie things like sugar free Jello, & zero calorie popsicles. That helped.

3. No matter the brand, I find the shakes are best when ice crystals have started to form, so popsicle is a great idea. I put my skakes in the freezed about 45 minutes before a meal and find they almost taste good!

popsicles Good Idea.I tryed the Stawberry Last night to see what one Iam going to like.It was not bad,But Not good.LOL I think Popsicles would be good on a  nices  hot day..

We are all thinking of you on wed..You can do this.

Hi,  well I was drinking Diabetic Boost too and honestly I was not hungry at all even when I went to meet with the Dieticianne half way on my liquid diet I even told her that I thought 4 Diabetic Boost was alot because the 4th one I have to kind of force it in....and the other girls that had there surgery done at the same time has me said the same thing.

You will see it's very filling because of the high proteine in it!!!  I never had any hunger paid, I honestly felt satisfied....I hope you will to because that made it way easier for me not to feel hungry!!
Yummm I never tried to do popsicles with it....that sounds like a good idea!

I would drink one in the morning around 7:30-8:00 but I would'nt drink it all at once I would drink it in a spam of 30 minute so that is maybe why I was never hungry.  Then I would usualy drink my second one around 11:00-11:30.  Then my 3rd one I would drink it around 2:00-2:30 and my last one around supper time 5:00-5:30.    And the last one sometime I would drink if a little bit later sometime around 6:00-6:30 so then I would not be hungry during the evening....
Honestly I never let myself be hungry the minute I was starting to feel hungry I would open a Boost and start sipping thru it....that really made a difference for me!
