Not Good
What a week this has been. My appartment is being renovated so everything is a MESS! Boxes, bags everywhere, dust, dust and more dust. Camped in the living room with the kids foe a few days, then moved downstairs since that appartment is currently vacant. Did I mention the dust? LOL!!!
Last Friday the daycare called that my youngest one had a fever. I took her to the hospital since the after hours clinics were full. She had had a really nasty cough for over a week. We get to triage and I tell the nurse about the cough, she takes my daughter's temp and it was 104! We never made it back to the waiting room. We went straight into isolation. Dr's were coming in with masks, gowns and gloves.
They sent us to XRay. We discovered that she had a sinus infection. As a precautionary measure, they did a swab for influenza & H1N1. Dr calls me Saturday to inform me that she has tested positive for influenza A and results are not in for H1N1. She also tells me that my daughter needs to be isolated. Monday I called HR at work and told them that I will not be in this week.
All week between, renos and inflenza, I had the worse nutrional week post surgery. The place was a mess, everything in a box, so we ate out. I haven't been to the gym in over a week and I feel disgusting.
This morning the hospital called to inform me that my daughter's H1N1 result was positive. Since yesterday, I feel like there's an elephant sitting on my lungs so watching if I get a fever. If I do, need to go to the ER and get swabbed immediately.
The whole events of the past week have made me realize that life still happens after WLS and that I still need to be on the ball and not use the events in my life as an excuse for poor choices.
My daughter is recovering well. Dr. said she can resume all activities Monday. Life still happens and choices need to be made. I've come too far to throw it all away now.

You must have been so frightened for your daughter. How old is she? I hope everything works out and that you don't get sick. Hard to be the mama when your sick.
Once the dust settles and the renos are over I'm sure you will get back on track. It seems like I have done nothing but renovate for the last 21/2 years. Our carpenter, plumber and electrician finished installing a new bathroom downstairs just last week. Wonderful to have that one finished!
Wishing you all the best and sending wellness vibes to you and yours!

Oh my thoughts are with you. A change in routine can throw you off track so bad. You'll get back though. I hope your daughter continues to improve and I hope you don't get it. Best of luck and keep your chin up. Patsy

Glad to hear your daughter is getting better and sorry to hear that you may be coming down with H1N1.
I personally hope to get H1N1 while it is still a fairly mind strain of it going around. I have a feeling once fall arrives and it hits again, it will have mutated and be a harder strain.
If you get it now, you won't get it again in the fall. I worry more for my 84 year old Mom . I really hope she doesn't get it.
I don't think getting swabbed for it will do any good. There are no drugs to fight it. They say stay away frm the ER if you are feeling flu like and just treat it as any other flu unless you get another infection or have reduced immunity. (asthma, copd, on immunosuppressents or are immuneocompromised or very young or old.) Plenty of fluids, rest and tylenol for aches, pains and fever.
Best of luck with both your health and your appartment. This too shall pass.
