Who's lurking around here???

I have not had my initial consult with Dr. S yet. Due to my age, my Gp was a bit hesitant at sending me at first...as a nurse, I am finding that my body ( due to my occupation and the amt of weight I carry around) is wearing out.......I had ankle reconstruction 2 years ago, following a break that wouldnt heal well....( you guessed it the Ortho Dr....said .....due to your weight.) I literally feel as though I am wearing out....so after some much needed realistic self talk I opted to beg my GP. One of the Dr.'s I work with happens to be Dr. Savoie's cousin, so that is how I learned of the new clinic starting in Bathurst.  My referal was sent in early January , I have been trying to do some emotional work since that time, but I guess I am impatient!  LOL! I have tried lots of programs, and initiatives...so I am fired up to go with this. I want to enjoy my kids and life, heck I just want to be able to keep up with them some day!  They are busy bees.

I think you are smart to do it young. I have a bunch of co-morbitities and I only added more in the 5 years I was waiting. I could always lose weight, but I always gained it back and more. What part of the province are you from?

I do come by and read every single day but don't have alot to say .
 Iam going to get the band done in aug so I hope I will have alot to say then.
Juat like seeing what people are talking about and doing.Maybe get to meet some people soon.

I have posted a couple of times but mostly lurk...and yep trying to gather as much information as possible. I called Dr.S's office to find out about the length of time until a consult as my referral went in about a month ago. They never called me back.

I also am guilty - I just don't seem to have much to add to what you wise people have already contributed!
