New Dr. Savoie patient

Hi everyone I am new to the board and still learning how to use all this new technology, at least new to me! I had my first initial consult with Dr. Savoie on Oct 23, 08. I have not received my phone call yet for my dietician appt. I am having the DS surgery once he begins them. I have enjoyed reading all of your posts and you have all given me much needed information on the surgeon and his schedule. Thanks and hope this works!

Welcome aboard.  Look forward to hearing all about your adventure. What part of the province are you from?    I had my consult a week later than you...Oct 30, as did catinthefiddle!

Thanks so much I am so excited that I was able to get on the board, can you tell I'm a newbie!! To answer your question I am about an hour west of Fredericton, near Woodstock. I heard that he was doing the DS dietician consults a bit later, that is ok, we are on the way there now.

Welcome to our very friendly and supportive group!  I am a patient of Dr B. I had  Lap-band in Fedruary. I enjoy following everyone's journey. If you live near Fredericton, I occasionally organize support get-togethers. I don't know when the next one will be, but you are welcome to join us.

Hey Charline, I only live an hour from Fredericton and so that would be nice. Are the support get-togethers for all kinds of surgery or mainly the lap band patients? Just curious! I am actually still on Dr. B's list for surgery as well. I have been on his list since 2007 and have never gotten a call. I was originally going to get gastric bypass as I have a sister that had the procedure in 2007 and has done really well. I never did get a call from Dr. B though and so jumped quick when I heard of a new Dr to the area, Dr. Savoie. So I am excited to be on this journey with all of you and cannot wait for a new beginning

Hi Trish-hoping. Welcome to this site. We are mostly all friendly and supportive here. I can be a little grumpy (others will tell you this too) but come on in anyway. You will get all of the ears and answers you can handle. Glad to see you.

Sorry Maggie, I disagree. I have never found you to be grumpy. Maybe discouraged and in need of support occassionally, just like me and most all of us!
