Got the call for preadmissions
Hi All,
Day 3 of liquids, getting a little easier as long as I don't think about it. The scale is pretty happy, first time in years I'm below 290 lbs, yahoo.I got the call for preadmission tests, I go tomorrow, so barring any problems, surgery should be a go on Monday, fingers crossed. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive, it's a relief to be in touch with people who are going through or have been through the same process. I'm wondering if I'll be able to attend the support meeting the Sat. after surgery. It is on Sat., June 13th, right ?
Gotta go.

Yes I got an email about the meeting being changed to the 13th - ya probably wont be up to the meeting but everyone is different- personally I was just too tired- but I was also very anemic and having low blood pressure issues.
Though just sitting for any length of time in the beginning was uncomfortable you -sit, stand, walk around, lay down -you are always trying to find your comfort zone - when do you get out of the hospital - I was in 3 days after surgery I think - my god I am losing my memory its kinda a blur ! I was at the hotel for 4 days before I could fly back home from Montreal with hubby.
Are you having to travel or are you in HRM ?
Good luck - you are on your way girly - your time has come!
hugs
deb
Hi Deb,
I'm in the HRM so travel is not a problem. I was at the hospital yesterday for preadmission tests and was told I would probably be in the hospital until Thursday as my surgery is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday so I can't count that day.....One potential problem is that they want to have me go to the step down room after recovery because I have sleep apnea and if there are no beds available they'll have to reschedule surgery, but I can't worry about it as I have no control over that. Day 5 of liquids and hanging tough, I surprise myself, I didn't think I could do it.
Thanks for all your support, you give me hope when I see your success and where you've come from that I can get there too. It's almost too much to absorp.
