True Confessions of a Loser (not)
I am not a loser but I am a loser. I only lasted 2 days on liquids and I caved. I felt faint and tired and cranky. How am I going to do this. Oh, I thought it would be easy! What a joke that was. I have to lose 10lbs by July 21 or I am afraid to be "booted" from the program. Full of p*** and vinigar I was. I have a true confession and I am a loser (not).

Aawww Sugarbear, What kind are you on? There are choices. I used the Meditrim and didn't find it bad at all - the drinks that is - I did NOT like the bars YUCK! The vanilla drink was pretty good with a little Crystal light in it and the chocolate was good on its own. Both have to be chilled to the point of having ice crystals in them. Don't give in - call the clinic and speak to the dietician. Explore you options - you CAN do it! Hang in there - Suzanne H
Oh Sugarbear, you gave up too soon. The worst part is the first 2 or 3 days. After you get past that worse part, it gets easier. For Dr. B., we had to do 2 weeks of either meditrim or slimfast. The only other thing we were allowed was water. That's it. Not even coffee. UUGG!
Because of money, I chose slimfast. The first 2 or 3 days, I thought I was going to die or at least faint. I was diabetic too so that made it even harder. Once you get past those first 3 days, you get used to it. Honest. When the time comes, you will be able to do it. It's such a short term pain for such a wonderful gain. The gift of weightloss is worth any amount of short term pain or discomfort to get it. Believe in yourself. You can do this!!!

You can do this Sugarbear. I know it isn't easy. I found out today that Caroline and Lise tried to do the liquid diet and Lise lasted 3 days and Caroline only lasted a day. Rinette lasted a week as planned. So you are in good company. I tell you this so you won't be so hard on yourself. On the other hand look at all of the losers here. Now I am not going to pretend that everyone was 100% perfect, but most were 99% and we are a bunch of food addicts. The first 3 days are the worst, it's gets easier.
Hi Sugarbear, I know exactly what you are going through. I have been on liquids since Sunday and by day 3 I was a walking zombie, couldn't think straight and I was pretty cranky. The only saving grace that kept me going is that I have surgery scheduled for Monday. You can always turn this around, as I don't think of it as you have not completed the week of liquids instead I think you should celebrate that you did 2 days. Now you know what to expect, make some soup. try different powders, I know the protein shakes were not agreeing with me but I found thirst quenchers with as much protein but I mix it with water and ice and it's great. Let me know if you want the brand name or if there is something I can do to help. Try it again, you'll see, the second time is a little easier.

It's called whey cooler, made by PVL, it's not a meal replacement but a thirst quencher but it has 20 gr. of protein and I find it way easier to drink and I don't have the nasty side effects I have with the protein shakes. I bought a container of it a Walmart, I believe it was under $10. , the flavour is Cran' Raspberry ****tail. I was at the GNC store earlier this week and they had larger tubs, more money, but lots of different flavours. I'll be picking some up today to have in the house for after surgery Monday. I know the liquid diet part is really hard and when it got really bad, starving and crazed on the way home, I stopped at Wendy's and got a chocolate frosty. It lasts for quite a while if you use a straw and is remarkably filling. I know that won't be an option after surgery because of the sugar, but I should have the hunger after surgery either. The first time I tried the liquid diet I only lasted 5 days before I cracked.....of course the 5 days were really miserable. Knowing surgery is so close at hand made this attempt bearable. Good luck, let me know if I can answer anymore questions.
Thanks for the awesome information. I am heading to Walmart on my way home from The Valley. I am not nuts about H2o so this will at least add protien to my drink. Glad you tried it so you could pass on the good news to others. I wish we were all closer so we could go to GNC and but all sorts and divide it up. Would be cheaper and we would get loads of variety. Thanks for the information. Cheers, Carmen
